Hometown Christmas
DeWitt's Hometown Christmas is a FREE event to the public. Come and spend the day in DeWitt and get into the Holiday spirit!! Join us for DeWitt's Hometown Christmas 2024! SCHEDULE OF EVENTS: ** 9-11 AM Kid's Christmas Carnival at Emmaus Road Church! Santa arrives via Fire Truck at 9 am where children are welcome to come sit with him and get their picture taken. The popular Santa Picture Pass will be back this year to cut down your time waiting in line. Visits with Santa are free with a canned good donation for the DeWitt Referral Center. Enjoy 25 cent carnival games while at the Children's Christmas Carnival! ** 11:15 AM Family Holiday Movie at the DeWitt Operahouse Theater Doors will open at 11:15 AM. FREE entrance and a hot dog lunch from the DeWitt Nite Lions with a non perishable food donation for the DeWitt Referral Center. Concession stand will also be available. For safety reasons, Children 10 and under must be supervised. Seating is limited, first come first served. ** 5:00 PM Lighted Parade Starting on South 6th Ave, traveling north and ending at Lincoln Park to help light the big Christmas Tree! ** 5:15 PM Lighting of the Christmas Tree Immediately following the Lighted Parade at the Christmas Tree in Lincoln Park. ** 5:00 - 7:00 PM Live Window Walk The Holiday Spirit Comes to Life in Downtown DeWitt! Horse and Wagon Rides, Live & Lit Holiday Windows, Warming Stations, Christmas Hidden Letter Search, Gingerbread House Contest, DeWitt Nite Lions Free Dinner (with non perishable food donation) in the Community Center, LIVE Nativity Scene from the DeWitt United Methodist Church and more! **5:00 - 7:00 PM Visit Santa Santa will be in the Santa Hut (new location - green space on 6th Ave, across from First Central State Bank). Bring a non-perishable item to be donated to the Referral Center. Stop in and say hello, and get your picture taken with Santa! Many businesses will have extended hours.
